JAGRITI FOUNDATION

Our Jagriti Foundation Partnership

The Jagriti Foundation is a non-profit organisation that provides children in the slums of Jaipur with access to education.

In the slumbs, household income is often generated through begging and child labour. Education provides a vital platform to new opportunities. Monica first discovered the incredible work of the Jagriti Foundation on a trip to our workshops in India where she was deeply moved, and immediately got involved.

Progress Within The Community

The Jagriti Foundation started in 2011 with 40 children and one school.

A decade on, there are now 18 schools in and around the slums (15 in Jaipur and 3 in Ajmer) where students receive high-quality education.

By October 2021, almost 5,000 students between the ages of 4 and 18 were enrolled. The charity also offers vocational training to mothers and fathers, opening new doors for entire families.

Our work as a CHARITY PARTNER

As one of the school's charity partners, we give a percentage of profits each year as a donation to support their work. This money goes towards school uniforms, teachers' salaries, student activities and more. We've enrolled more than 90 children in school for a year.

In 2021, in light of the terrible impact of COVID-19 on India, we launched the Covid Disaster Relief Grocery Distribution Programme with the Jagriti Foundation. Between May and July, every order placed on monicavinader.com sponsored food bags to feed families in Jaipur, the area where our Master Craftsmen live and work.

How to get INVOLVED
