Turquoise is known for its ability to instill strength, not to mention it's an absolute showstopper. It's no wonder then, that it's a Monica Vinader favourite.
Working alongside a team of dedicated designers, the vision for each new collection comes from Monica herself. Drawing inspiration from a multitude of places from art and architecture to nature and travel. Our collections are often influenced by Monica's surroundings or objects found on her travels around the globe that inspire her to play with different styles and silhouettes, and to consider how we might adapt them for our collections. With ideas being drawn from such a vast array of forms, our pieces span from being fluidly organic to ultra linear, but each still remains true to our overall philosophy; that every piece must be innovative, wearable and simple.
The inspiration for each collection is collated to build a moodboard, which Monica and the design team then work from to refine down to specific shapes, textures and colours. It could be of an amazing gemstone that Monica is captivated by, an architectural feature or a simple shell found on the beach. Each design vision is then brought to life in the form of a hand-drawn sketch.
To refine and edit our designs, we do as much in the design studio as possible; from 3D printing and checking rings will stack, to using our local Silversmith in Norfolk to achieve the right 'look and feel'. Each design is then extensively quality control tested before reaching our boutiques. This journey means that each piece is personal to Monica, and tells a story of uncompromising attention to detail.
