Monica Vinader's First Ever Scarf Collection: Antonia O'Brien Gives You The First Look
Fashion writer and TV presenter, Antonia O'Brien, kicks off our guest blogging series with our brand new scarf collection. Whether she is reporting from the red carpet for E! One thing you should know about me is that I love scarves, so naturally when I was introduced to Monica Vinader's ultra-luxurious new collection; I was styling them into my wardrobe immediately. From spring through to winter scarves are my style must-haves; this collection is all I need to add in a fast flash of colour or print to my style.
Let me start by introducing you to the collection; we met about three weeks ago and have been close allies since. Inspired by the natural patterns and swirly-swirls found in semi-precious stones, the scarves work across exquisite palettes of soft grey against neon yellow, and jade green with amethyst purple. My day-to-day uniform is often easy-to-wear tailoring and separates in monochromes and neutral colours, but I love to use accessories to add in fierce colour; cue Monica Vinader's scarves.
On the day of our street style shoot I was really excited about two things; 1) it was the first chilly morning of autumn 2) the scarves worked brilliantly (really brilliantly) with my wardrobe. With Fitzrovia as the backdrop, we shot the scarves in the smart and chic streets of London. I thought it was important for the scarves to take lead role, so I styled them simply with leather trousers, a black tee and different tailored jackets; the vivid colours and abstract patterns made every look sing with style. Whether it was the hot red and pink design against my tuxedo, or the mixed blues with my red riding jacket, the scarves added instant colour and vibrancy to every look.
There is a reason why scarves are a stylists best friend; they're so easy and versatile to wear (just think, two-wraps-and-a-loop-through,) and they will instantly transform your wardrobe and new season dressing. It is the brilliantly bright colours and abstract shapes that I adore about Monica Vinader's new designs; they are lust-have pieces that no wardrobe should be without, (I may have just bought my third.)
