  • Shini Park Jewellery Q&A

What's your favourite thing about north London?

The best thing about north London is that it has so many different hidden pockets of character around every corner. There's Dalston and Stoke Newington bustling with creatives, Camden, with the young and free, and Primrose Hill, with its family-friendly atmosphere, enviable houses and shops.

In three words, describe north London style.

Considered. Functional. Personalised.

Silver, gold, rose gold, or all of the above?

As much as I love all three equally, I do gravitate towards gold more as it suits my skin tone and my general wardrobe.

What's your favourite gemstone colour for summer?

Emerald. It reminds me of the colour of the sea on a particularly wonderful holiday in Thailand.

On an average day, how many pieces of jewellery will you wear?

Up to six. I wear a comfortable number of stacking rings on my left hand, a watch, light bracelets and one or two rings on my right arm to balance!

What are your jewellery staples?

Delicate pieces that can be stacked up - mostly rings. Thin knuckle rings for days I'm not on a shoot!

What do you love most about MV?

The thing I love most about MV is how versatile the pieces are for any occasion, and also the store experience - I absolutely adore the one-day engraving service and the packaging is divine.

What's your favourite MV piece and why?

My ultimate MV go-to is the Skinny Diamond Long Ring. It's classy, classic, minimal and modern all at the same time. Personally I always pair this with a Baja Ring in grey agate.

Where is your number one summer hangout?

Really touristy London areas actually, although avoiding the crowds. Frozen yoghurt by the riverside, crêpes at Portobello Market, weekend lunches at Southbank… London is really beautiful in sunny weather, and putting time aside to enjoy it really puts the city in a very different light and makes the rest of the year more bearable.

Tell us about your happiest memory from a London summer

It's a picnic in Canary Wharf, which probably sounds incredibly odd! For those unfamiliar with London, Canary Wharf is a bit like a hyper-modern Venice with canals intersecting skyscraper buildings, and believe it or not, it's an ideal setting for a sticky hot summer. It was one weekend with the hubby and a few close friends. We sat in the shade of the HSBC building having a picnic while feeding bits of tuna from our sandwiches to some seals in the canal. Everything about it was so surreal that it almost felt exotic. It's since my favourite London summer pastime.
